Welcome to Kyte's Creative Corner!

About Me

Hello there! My name is MidnightKyte, but you can call me Mid, Middy, or Kyte for short! I'm an artist, writer, and a web designer/developer student! Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the Internet! :]

Extra Info: Pronouns are they/them, I'm 22 years old, American, I'm part of the LGBTQ community (NB bi ace), and I'm neurodivergent.

Drawing

I've been drawing for... nearly 10 years now, wow! I usually draw animals (mostly felines and canines), especially my favorite OCs whom I love dearly. For a long time I was a Pokemon artist though, and I still like drawing them! I'm a digital artist who primarily uses Medibang Paint Pro. (Though recently traditional art has caught my interest again... glances at my Prismacolors.) My art is pretty stylized, and I love playing around with shape, color, texture, etc. Get funky with it!! I'll add art examples later. :D

Writing

I've been creating my own stories since I was a child! I love unique fantasy settings with adventure, action, suspense, all that fun stuff. In the past I wrote fanfiction about Pokemon OCs, but now I've moved on to original stories. It's something I'm very passionate about! I admit I took a hiatus from my current story to recover from mental health stuff, but I'm slowly feeling better and getting back into things. Here's some info about my story:

My current project is a trilogy called Youth of Genesis, starring my main OCs whom I affectionately refer to as the Spice Cats...
Ginger, Saffron, Paprika, Cayenne, and Cinna are five young felines who live in a civilization of magical animals. Growing up sheltered in their small town of Copperleaf, one summer these childhood friends decide to run away together to venture out and see the sights of their enchanted world. However, the magic of their world is slowly fading away, and the road may prove to be more perilous than these teens initially expected. But hey-- at least it's sure to make for one hell of a summer vacation!

Coding

Two years ago, I decided I wanted to become a web developer, and today I'm more dedicated to that than ever! I've already played around with HTML and CSS when I was around 15/16, but now I'm finally taking coding classes in college. It's so interesting and fun! In the future, once I'm more experienced, I'd love to develop my own indie art website called ChromaFlight. The online world feels like such an unkind place for artists right now, and I'd like to do something to combat that. A cozy little community! But that's future stuff.
